Launching Problem

Featured Replies

When I try to launch my GTA 5 the rockstar games launcher pops up an error message stating "A GAME IS CURRENTLY RUNNING" when I have no games running.

I attached a screenshot of my directory in case it was a problem.

Could contain: text, screenshot, font

Could contain: text, screenshot, menu

open command prompt in administrator and type and enter TASKKILL /F /IM GTA5.exe /T then try again, this will forcefully terminate all GTA5.exe instances and their child programs

if this doesnt work, then it's probably a launcher issue because it is detecting something that isn't happening, try clearing it's cache or reinstalling RGL

by the way if you have steam, sometimes in the event of a really broken game, steam will override system32 (??) and it may say access is denied when you try to terminate it. restart your PC so the BIOS can override steam and end GTA5
