My pc is being stored and has been since December 2023. I won't have it back up and running for at least another 3-5 months. My question is this. What is a good recommendation. Delete the game completely and start over? Or update the thing after I fire it back up?

I do have a shit load of mods installed too

Usually, I would recommend updating everything, especially since you are not gone for an extent of a year or 6+ months, as mods don't frequently update over a 3-5 month timespan. However, if you do not have your PC running by Rockstars December Christmas update and, hypothetically, the update breaks modding for some reason, at that point it might just be good to restart it, but you can still just update your mods.

An easy way to tell if your mods are outdated is loading into the game and then going on duty, as most, if not all, plugins will directly tell you in their loading message if the plugin is outdated or not, or you can load all your plugins and look in your RagePluginHook.log, and it will tell you.

TLDR; Unless every mod, including your mods folder, breaks beyond existence, you are just fine updating and it is significantly more time consuming to restart your mods and plugins entirely.
