Problems with removing the PUA:Win32/Vigua.A

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm having trouble removing a threat detected by Windows Defender. The antivirus flags the file as PUA:Win32.Vigua.A. Even through I've tried to delete the file or move it to quarantine, the threat remains active. After taking the "take action" bitton changesto "quick scan," and the situation repeats.

I've also scanned the system with Avast, but i didn't detect any thrests. The computer works normally, but I'm concerned about this file's presence since I can't filly remove it. Has anyone experieced a similiar issue and knows how fix it ? Could whatI'm describing be a false positive, or is this a real threat ?

Additional information:

- Operating system: Windows 10 Pro

Windows Defender:

- Antimalware Client Version: 4.18.24060.7

- Engine Version: 1.1.24060.5

- Antivirus version: 1.415.513.0

- Spyware definition version: 1.415.513.0

Avast free antivirus:

- Program version: 24.7.9311.856

- Virus definition version: 240802-4

- Number of definitions: 17 337 146

- Interface version: 1.0.811

Update: My Windows system has blocked the file that launches RagePluginHook. Before, when I installed the installer, the file appeared in the gta folder, but now I can't move it there. Disable antivirus?

Thanks for your help!

Always check on https://www.virustotal.com/ where you can upload the file for checking against all major antivirus software.

If you believe its a false positive (most likely for being the official LSPDFR download via the lcpdfr.com) lodge it for review by Microsoft at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission. Microsoft will then review it (sometimes takes a few days) and then they will fix the classification.

I get the same classification on Windows 11. Have also just lodged it to Microsoft for manual review. Recommend not installing the file until Microsoft updates their classification or the LSPDFR development team fixes the reason for the flag.
