Custom Media Radio

Featured Replies

It could be done using the built in Windows media API or even just by simulating a key press of the media play/pause key.

It would work with most media players, including Spotify and YouTube. No log-in needed. No MP3 downloading.

This would be amazing. Just switch to the right radio station and get your own music.

Based on what I have seen in recent years, it probably will never happen. Spotify and YouTube dislike people using their API as it means no revenue for their creators and likewise against (at least) YouTube's ToS to do so.

In other words, copyright is a big no-no from Spotify and YouTube especially. You're better off playing it in the background while you're playing LSPDFR, nearly no point in considering such thing.

Nowhere did I mention using their API. If you have a play/pause button on your keyboard, press it. Notice how Windows has the song title & author? Windows was also able to play/pause this music.

Found this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/windows.media.playback.mediaplayer

The plugin could launch a UWP app that will handle the media, unless there is another API that doesn't use UWP.
