When i take out my pistol it makes the animation for a holster on a belt but mine is on the leg can I change this?

Are you using the CopHolster plugin? Or are you referring to the LSPDFR holster animation?

I am using CopHolster plugin. Sorry should have been more specific.

Does your character have a leg holster instead of a hip holster?

Yes.

Cop Holster only supports hip holster animation, it does not have an animation for leg holsters. So when you have a leg holster equipped, it will use the hip holster animation.
