Frequent Crashing on Startup

Featured Replies

Spoiler

I've been dealing with this for a while and I wanted to see if anyone had an answer for this.

I've been dealing with frequent startup crashing issues for a while. Meaning, every time I try to start LSPDFR, it will open GTAV for a few seconds and then crash. I've suspected it to be a plugin issue or a stray file. I don't want to start from scratch either because with the amount of plugins I have, it would take hours to get them back.

I just updated to the new LSPDFR update and scripthookv so I know there's nothing wrong with that. I had a scripts folder that I deleted because it wasn't working and I couldn't figure it out, but that didn't seem to help anything. I've updated my graphics drivers, and checked for windows updates and that didn't help either.

What I ended up doing is taking advice from another forum post, and they advised to rename the mods folder to "_mods" and to see if there were any issues still. If not, then the issue resides in the mods folder. When I tried that, lspdfr loaded up. I do have custom vehicles and uniforms in my mods folder I just don't know where to start when it comes to figuring out what the issue is.

To start, have you updated your mods folder after the GTA V update? If not, do the following:

Spoiler

Using Windows File Explorer navigate to: Grand Theft Auto V/update Copy the update.rpf into: Grand Theft Auto V/mods/update If you currently have an update2.rpf file in this directory - delete it

Would this delete everything in the folder?

It will revert everything inside the update.rpf. If you want to save certain files, make backups prior to updating it.

Update:

I ended up uninstalling lspdfr and gtav then reinstalling and that seemed to clear up the issue. All of my mods were saved which I was very happy about. The only thing I lost were my EUP uniforms which was fine. But it also made sense because I had done a lot of uniform editing and file modification so there must have been some sort of corrupt file in there.

After reinstalling EUP uniforms and updating some plugins, everything was back up and running.
