NVE (free) causing crashing every 5-10 minutes pls help code 99

Featured Replies

I've been troubleshooting my game for a few days now. I have about 10 game folders of different variations of mods to try to best isolate what the hell is crashing me. I think its related to NVE. I am able to load up and get on the game and about 5-10 minutes of playing my game turns black, I hear what sounds like a windows error sound, and then I just get stuck there unless I use task manager to close my game. There are zero usefull logs or errors in the ragepluginhook log file. I am able to get my game working fine, even fully modded with callouts, cars, audio mods, etc, etc. Works great, no crashes. The moment I put NVE into my game, I cannot play for longer than 5 mins. Is anyone else experiencing this? I went into their discord to get help and they claim its on my end. Thanks.

It worked fine on the previous game version so I am not sure what is going on. Its installed correctly, I have the most recent scripthook, clean game install, etc.

1. It could be your computer is struggling running NVE, have you tried installing the performance boosting patches available?
2. I believe there are some other people experiencing issues with the latest version of NVE and there is currently an update in progress behind the scenes

I don't believe so. I ran it just fine before the update on max settings getting 140+ fps easy. I have a 4070ti, i7, 32 ram.

As actually dumb this is going to sound, I am not sure exactly what the cause is since the newest update. I had an identical issue using the free version of NVE where I would get crashes to desktop everytime, and I thought it had something to do with my mods. After several hours of troubleshooting, I had uninstalled it and reinstalled, and restarted my computer to at which point it worked, which mind you was the actual last thing I thought of.

Now I am not saying that this is definitely going to fix your issue as you say you are hearing a sound like the windows startup, but I figured I would at the very least mention it in case you wanted to try that and see what it did. That would be my only guess unfortunately.

Appreciate the input. How were you crashing before? Right away or after gaming a bit?

A mix. There was a period of where I would be loading in, all my plugins would load in, and then crashed with nothing helpful to the log. Other times, I could load into the game, and I would crash to desktop again doing anything. It wasn't at all consistent with crashing being fully loaded into the game with regards to time.

Yeah than unlikely to be performance related.
As I said I have seen other people experiencing crashes on the latest version of nve.
Also make sure you don't have the vegetation patch from nve installed as I know for sure that is causing people to crash.
