Vehicle/Suspect Pursuit Menu shrinks or grows, depending on aspect ratio

Featured Replies

There is an issue which has been observed by multiple people (including me) over the years, in regards to the LSPDFR Vehicle Pursuit menu either shrinking or growing in width over the course of multiple pursuits until it eventually becomes unreadable.

This appears to almost certainly be linked to the aspect ratio that you use ingame, as the issue does not occur on 16:9 or 4:3(?) aspects. However, 32:9 causes it to grow (from my tests) and likely anything below 16:9 would cause the shrinking issue to occur.

This has been reported on by me and several people over several years (as early as 2019 from my investigations) without any official response on the matter, nor any fix - which may very well just involve a tweak to ensure that the menu stays locked in size regardless of your aspect ratio.

Some examples, which are not mine bar one:

So I was able to test on different level of Aspect ratios today. Sadly I couldn't text it on 32:9 as that's not available on my monitor. But I was able to test on different ratio's listed below.
> 16:10

>16:9

>5:4

>5:3
>4:3

>3:2

And here are the screenshot results. (Also yes I've changed the resolution for each to make it possible as given in your pics above, but to no avail. I was not able to reach to that extent. And for it me it's normal as usual.) Also sorry for the bad image quality as it there is a limit for 4 MB, and mine was exceeding the limit for 4 MB.

My Solution: I recommend checking your Graphical Settings in your Nvidia/AMD control panel and see if there's some sort of setting that could be fiddling with the UI for your display. Also, recommend checking your monitor settings just in case whether it has any in-built function that could be causing it.

Alternative: It could be possible that the menu is incompatible with given ratio's or maybe some sort settings could cause the problem. Anyway, I'll try to find more about this and will update you if I find a solution for this.

And yes I've changed my ratio's live frequently, and it has been compatible with my ratio's whenever I changed it.

Quick question. Were these screenshots taken after 2-3 pursuits or only on the first pursuit?

The first pursuit always appears normal, and then the bug starts to appear on the second or third.

I've tested in 2 pursuits, but I'll try doing it again for 5-10 pursuit and will update you on this one soon.

I've tested it out and it seems like this is a issue that appears to be a case. It only happens with ratio's either above or below 4:2, 16:9, 16:10. It stretched for me like a rubberband. Now I'm not sure what's the cause of this, but yes every chase I've tried with 5:3 and 5:4. It seemed to have kept on stretching like a download bar. Sadly I do not have the solution to this yet, but I'll see if i can find any and will update you on this soon. 🙂

Here are the testing result.

Question... Is there a reason your trying to change your aspect ratio?  How large is your monitor?  Have you tried using default or recommended settings?

If you cannot get this to work, I could definitely offer some suggestions in place of the vanilla backup menu.  Never had any issues after SEVERAL pursuits.  Check out my youtube videos of LSPDFR and you'll see what I mean.

LMK, I am always glad to help out a fellow gamer.  🙂

Yes, I use an ultrawide monitor and play GTA V in that aspect ratio without issues aside from this. Can you give me some suggestions?
