GTA 4 won't start with asiloader

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

first of all sorry for my english.

I have a little problem in starting GTA4 with the asiloader which I need for the use of the Simple Native Trainer.

I've bought the steam version which I deleted after having no success, and now I also bought an extra retail version of the game and it didn't work either. The game doesn't even start when the asiloader is in the gamefolder. I've tried all 3 different versions of the asiloader (xlive, alexanders dsound.dll & yaasil dsound.dll) but it changed nothing.

- GTA 4 version 1.0.7.0 (also tried without success: 1.0.3.0 & 1.0.4.0)

- I always start the "LaunchGTAIV.exe" with Admin-rights

- When I start GTA4 with the asiloader the windows-task-manager shows me a process called GTA4.exe which stucks at around 180 MB of RAM and nothing more happens. But when I delete the asiloader the process gets bigger (over 1 GB) and GTA opens up, of course without function of the Trainer.

I've attached a picture of the asilog.txt

Please feel free to ask for more informations.

I would be very thankful if anyone could help me.

Kind regards

Maybe this is an important information:

I've installed now the Steam Version of GTA4 on my Laptop. Using the same Asiloader and Trainer as on my PC the game now starts and the trainer too.

Because of the low performance of the Laptop I prefer to play on my PC but it does not work there.

It seems that the trainer and the asiloader are not the problem but I don't know where to search more

Anybody an idea?

I too experience this small bug starting GTA IV on Steam, I believe it's Steams fault.

1) put the dsound.dll from LCPD:FR its the best ASI loader u will have.

2) go the the GTA IV directory and launch from LaunchGTAIV.exe this should make it start the RSSC login, then the game should follow.

*EDIT* Be aware, IIRC this bypasses Steam so you will not have the Steam Overlay in game (only brings more stability), but if this option is not for you, and you want the Steam Overlay then just keep killing the process and trying again, and ofter 2/3 trys it usually loads for me.

I'm not using Steam to start the game anymore.

Like I said I bought an retail version of the game and it's starting with the same configurations (asiloader, trainer, skirpthook and so on) on my laptop, but not on my PC.

Has someone any idea?

Go to launchgtaIV.exe right click it and run it as an administrator, if it doesn't work then do what Faracus said about using dsound.dll

Did you even read the thread?

In the first post he says:

- I always start the "LaunchGTAIV.exe" with Admin-rights

Can you tell us exactly what happens when you run LaunchGTAIV.exe? Do you get an error while the game is launching, or does the game launch bu the trainer not work?

Sorry missed that part, i'm only human.

Try deleting SNT and re-installing it, when I installed SNT i left the dsound in that lcpdfr installed and it works, I had the same problem a few months back and leaving dsound.dll alone fixed it.

I don't get any error.

The game just doesn't start when the dsound.dll is in the game directory. My Task-Manager shows a process called GTA4 but it stucks there and nothing more happens.

When I delete the dsound.dll and leave the other parts of the SNT in the game-directory, the game starts without any problem.

On my Laptop I've installed the game too and the SNT works without any problem (using the same dsound.dll and so on)

Can it be possible that my PC needs any driver or programm?
