Game crashing as soon as it starts?

Featured Replies

I have some mods. Mostly just addon vehicles, sounds, and visualv. I got the newest version of gameconfig and scripthookv and all that after the update a few weeks ago and the game worked good.

I hooked my pc up to a tv instead of my monitor and started the game. I turned vsync on and turned MSAA to x1 and it crashed the game. Now every time i try to start the game it freezes on the copyright screen. It still crashes when its hooked up to the monitor.

I tried removing all mods. Didnt fix it. I tried verifying game files 3 times and it didnt fix it. I tried turning off MSAA using geforce experience and that didnt fix it. I have the latest GPU drivers installed. All of my other games work fine.

Is there anything I can try without reinstalling the game?

Is there a list of all the files that are supposed to be in the gta5 folder? There might still be a mod in there that i dont know about. I have the game on epic.

Hiya,

I would try removing dinput8.dll if you haven't already to see that brings about any change.

Attached below is a clean directory for Epic Games.

delete your entire gta5 directory then uninstall on steam that should do it. I just fixed mines. grab the files that you dont want to delete.

Why delete the entire directory? Uninstalling does the same thing right?

Uninstalling with certain platforms (I think it's Steam) removes the files within the directory, but not the directory itself.

If I recall correctly.

Well I uninstalled the game and re-downloaded it and it's still crashing on the starting screen. Any ideas?
