ASI error 126 for LCPDFR and ELS V8.51

Featured Replies

Hello! I am a new member here, but have been following the progress of the modding community since ages, and I just got myself a PC capable of running GTA IV and many other games properly. I am at ease with modding, but I am new to GTA IV modding specifically.

So I installed a few mods on my GTA IV, so far the only one working is a trainer by Zolika. The other ones are LCPDFR 1.1 and ELS V8.51. Every time when I start the game it gives me error code 126 for ELS.asi and same code for the AdvancedHook asi that came with LCPDFR, so naturally it doesn't load when the game starts. I read that 126 means I have some libraries missing, but on the ELS page there are 3 Visual C++ that might be needed for it and I have all 3 of em installed on my PC. I installed ELS manually, but used the installer for LCPDFR. I chose the 1.1 pre Legacy Edition, since I'm not running GTA IV CE. Version of GTA IV is 1.0.7.0, downgraded. If anyone has a clue about what I should do, because I don't. Thank you very much, and have a nice day!

As you figured out correctly, error 126 is related to missing libraries (it really is just the Windows error code 126/ERROR_MOD_NOT_FOUND returned by LoadLibrary). You can try download a tool like dependency walker and open the files that are not working in it. It should show you what dlls are missing.

Yeah, thanks. Figured it out on my own, apparently I needed the 32 bit dependencies even though I have a 64 bit OS 🤷  That was it, but now I ran into another issue, obviously it couldn't just go well right? Gonna make another topic... Thank you for replying

You need the 32/x86 dependencies because GTA IV is a 32bit game. It cannot work with 64bit files. Your operation system does not matter in this case.
