Hi, I use LSPDFR off and on and this is probably the first time I've ever had this problem. Perhaps there's a new extra step I don't know of yet?

 

When I launch the game using RAGEPluginHook.exe, the game launches as normal. Once I close GTAV. the RageHook loading UI is there there. Once I close it, it gives me the error message in the topic title.

 

It also gives me this error when I select settings. Is anyone able to help me?

So I see the issue you're having, it's not a rare issue so you should be in luck.
First things first, let's verify your game files. In order to do that depends on the edition of Grand Theft Auto V you own. If you own many editions, just focus on the one you got the error from.

Steam Edition

Locate Grand Theft Auto V in your steam library. Right click on the game in the left side menu and click Properties. When you do that a little cute menu will appear with a very options such as general or updates. Pick the option titled, Local Files and proceed to that page. Click the button Verify integrity of game files... and follow any additional steps it provide.

 

Epic Games Edition

Go to your library and find Grand Theft Auto V. Click the (...) button and within the drop down menu select the Verify option.

 

Rockstar Launcher Edition

Click the Settings option in the far upper right corner. Within the My installed games section, please select Grand Theft Auto V. An option called Verify game file integrity should be available. Click that option.

 

Once you verify your game files, which should take a pretty long time, go back into your game. Let me know if it works or not!

Okay, new problem.

 

I uninstalled LSPDFR so I could reinstall it and see if that helped. Now when I reinstall it, the executables aren't in the Grand Theft Auto V folder.

 

EDIT: I found them. They were in Program Files (x86)/LSPD First Response

Validation is not the problem though, the game just will not recognize that RageHookPlugin is even a thing. I don't know what I'm suppose to do with this, it just won't acknowledge it.

@ChancellorGrunt | Okay let's try another method.

Launch the game normally through Steam or Rockstar Launcher or where you got the game from. Launch it normally then when it gets to the part where it shows Settings, Online, and Single Play options on the screen, launch RageHookPlugin.exe then.

"Error

Grand Theft Auto V is already running..."

It never use to be this difficult to start the game. I'm actually losing my patience.

Honestly this is a tiny bit out of my wheelhouse but you really need the help considering this issue is preventing you from playing LSPDFR at all.
So here's some desperate last minute troubleshooting ideas.
 

Idea #1

Make sure that in your antivirus that RAGEPluginHook.exe is excluded (meaning it's allowed to hook into your game).
 

Idea #2
If idea doesn't work, do follow these steps:

1. Go to your Grand Theft Auto V root directory.

2. Locate your RAGEPluginHook.exe file.
3. Right click on it and press Properties.

4. Find and click the Compatibility tab.

5. See the option Run this program as an administrator click that.

6. Make sure that option is checked now, and click Apply.

7. Run the game and if it doesn't work, let's try the next idea.

 

Idea #3
Delete your RAGEPluginHook.exe, and redownload it via the newest LSPDFR manual install option on the download page. Do NOT use the official RagePluginHook website as the version they have is outdated.

 

Idea #4

Download your platform (Steam, Epic Games, or Rockstar Launcher), GTA V, and LSPDFR freshly on a brand new Windows user.

Does any of this seem fishy to you? I downloaded it straight from this website:

I set it up, exactly the same as every other cotton picking time I've done this. I launch the game from the RageScriptHook.exe or whatever its' called, and absolutely nothing appears different. I tried being optimistic and clicked "STORY MODE" once it loads up, press F4(even though I specifically and repeatedly asked for it to be F3, but that never changes until I actually start the freaking plugin), it's just vanilla story mode.

 

I'm so sorry that it's very apparent that I'm losing my cool right now, but for some reason this kind of stuff gets under my skin more than anything else. things not working the way they're suppose to. I appreciate you giving me your time, but if this doesn't work I'm just going to scrap the whole dang thing and just do without

I tried stepping away from it, but oh my god, this is the most infuriated I've been all darn week.

UPDATE ON PERSISTING PROBLEM: VERIFICATION IS NOT THE ISSUE, THE GAME ITSELF REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT LSPDFR IS EVEN INSTALLED! I HAVE MADE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT "Run LSPDFR" IS CHECKED, NOTHING IS HAPPENING, NOT EVEN A FREAKING ERROR MESSAGE, AND I'M ALL OUT OF PATIENCE!!!

 

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE?!?!

 

I JUST REMOVED ALL MODS FROM MY GAME, LAUNCHED THE RAGESCRIPTHOOK.EXE AND STILL NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!!

 

I HAVE STEPPED AWAY FROM THIS FOR A DAY, I WOULD   R E A L L Y   LIKE TO PLAY LSPDFR!!

i'm reinstalling my game, if this doesn't freaking fix it I'm done and never using this again.

@ChancellorGrunt | I just noticed you said install the lspdfr_049_8037_setup.exe file from the download. Completely delete that and your current LSPDFR installation. Go back to the download page and download the manual installation. The automatic setup tend to start weird issues some times for some people which the manual normally fixes so let's try this. Take a deep breath, you don't need to be stressing about this buddy.

Hi, I just wanted to personally apologize for my childishness. I haven't fixed it as of yet if you're wondering, but I'm just a bit embarrassed by my responses.

 

I greatly appreciate your help, you've been trying, and even if it doesn't end up working out I can still be grateful for that.

 

Okay, so I did the manual install. It still won't work. I also reinstalled my game, yet once I close the ragescripthook.exe, it still says the title issue.
