Hello all, recently fired up LSPDFR again, started my entire game build from scratch and all seemed stable. I've added a couple of custom car packs, the essential plugins (Compulite, Ultimate Backup etc) and Grammar Police. I've only two callout packs but my game just keeps randomly crashing... Sometimes on a call, sometimes in pursuit, sometimes spawning a vehicle and sometimes when i'm just moseying about on patrol. It seems to consistently be an Exception code: 0xc0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) error... If anyone could shed some light I'd be most appreciative. I'm not a total noob, I've and uprated gameconfig etc installed but I'm still pretty new to the modding scene!

First, what gameconfig you are using?

 

Second, did you edit any xml files, such as special units in Ultimate Backup?

Attach your RagePluginHook log -> a text document found in your main directory.

I'm using the gameconfig from GTA5 Mods, I went for the one with 1.5x peds and traffic.

 

Yes I did... I fiddled with some of the custom car packs etc to deploy different units - could this be the issue? Once I'm home I'll go through my ultimate backup XML, thanks for the heads up!

Yes, if you made a mistake when you are editing the xml file it will cause issues. Even if you mistyped a period.  

Thanks all, I've checked the Ultimate Backup XMLs and all seem to check out.. I removed a couple of the callout packs and I've managed half an hour of stable gameplay before it went again, I've attached the Rage log.

No problem! Try this:

 

Increase your Plugin Timeout Threshold to 60,000 -> this can be done in the RAGE setting.

Also, clear the contents of your commandline -> a text document found in your main directory

Update: Mixed results.. Some stability but then 3x crashes in a row... Becoming a bit of a head scratcher this!!RagePluginHook.log

Try removing United Callouts.

Thank you, this gave me a good 40 mins of stable gameplay! Interestingly I've noticed that when I spawn a vehicle, or call for backup that's been assigned a vehicle from BlueGhosts Unmarked Pack the game has amssive texture loss or crashes - think I'll try removing that pack too and seeing if that helps. Annoying as I've configured all the Ultimate Backup units but figure it's worth a try! Determined to get to the bottom of it! 🤪

Really sorry - but I'm back again with the same problem...

 

Bit of context; I cleared out BlueGhosts Unmarked Pack, then made the mistake of installing the British Police mega pack.. After some issues and not being able to remove them individually (package installer) I deleted my whole mods folder and started again!

 

Been trying to rebuild the game all morning, I've checked everything and I just can't get it to load now! Any advice gratefully received, otherwise I'll just pull the plug on the whole of LSPDFR and begin again from scratch 🤪 My own fault for not properly backing it up!!

Rename your mods folder to _mods

Does it still crash?

Tried that and they won't load!

Interesting - does the game crash without RAGE?

As far as I can see, in your case the main issue is improper mods installing. Such as replacing original files without making backups, and hoping they will be compatible with the game. 

 

I don't want to jinx myself but I never had an issue with my main LSPDFR game copy, and after all these updates I never had to reinstall the entire game. (knock on woods)

 

Right now the best you can do is to reinstall GTA V, get a clean copy and install mods one by one.

If the issue is with mods then it would work with the mods folder disabled.

That is unless they installed them into the game files though like you said.

 

The issue could actually be with a script that they've installed though I guess we will wait and see!
