Error Code 7002.1 after reverting version

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm sure it's a sad day again for all of us after the new update as it means LSPDFR is the main source of trouble again 🙂

My problem (Steam version):

Scenario 1: I reverted the game via the RPH to the old version. Then I tried to launch the game via the RPH.exe and it gave me the error with code 7002.1. Of course I did some research and found a solution that's worked for many but not for me: update your update.rpf in OpenIV. Tried it, and still got the error code 7002.1. Stuck at that point and tried something else in scenario 2.

Before I went to scenario 2, I ofcourse verified the game files on steam so I could start from 0.

Scenario 2: I downloaded some files from a guy on YT (gta5.exe, gtalauncher and update.rpf). I put these files in the main directory and the update.rpf in the mods/update folder. Well, my game launched without any problems. After the game was in the loading screen it suddenly closed. No error messages, nothing, it just closed. Tried it a couple of times, but nothing worked.

So my question is if anyone knows what I did wrong in any of those 2 scenarios or maybe anyone knows a different solution.

I really want to play..

Cheers in advance ❤️

Here is what worked for me, and make sure to do it in this precise order.

Step 1: Delete Rockstar Launcher entirely.
Step 2: GTA5 7002.1 Error Fixed! How To Make Your GTA5/LSPDFR Work! - YouTube
Step 3: Verify Game Files
Step 4: Launch game normally through Steam (Should perform first time install to reinstall Rockstar Games Launcher), and let it load up.
Step 5: Close out of the game, and launch LSPDFR as usual through RagePluginHook.

Should work.  Let me know!

I tried doing as Thomas Bagels says. Steam said 2 files couldn't be verified. Anyways, I opened the game and it loaded fine. But, when I closed it and tried opening Rage Plugin it went back to saying unsupported game version. Its like i can run Rage Plugin or GTA but not both.

I am assuming that before any of this you did downgrade your game version through RagePluginHook right?  My directions were based off of the assumption that you had already, since OP did.
