Hi there, I hope I’m posting in the right place. I think my traffic stop feature is broken...especially after I installed ELS. Now when I press A on the controller in order to stop the car in front of me a window pops up saying to activate my siren in front of the car to make it follow me or behind to make it stop. I do so: I activate the siren but the car instead of stopping road side, it keeps driving and most of the time like crazy (crashing into other cars and walls). What can I do?

Hey there. If I recall correctly, this has to do with the ELS Traffic Control feature. In the ELS.ini file in your main GTAV install, there is a line that says:

ElsTrafCtrlOn = true

Set that to false. Pressing the A button on the controller forces NPC drivers out of the way and overrides the traffic stop system causing that "crazy driving" as you mentioned.

I remember that this 'crazy driving' issue happened to me 2 days ago. 

Isn't that sacrificing one thing for another? Forcing people out of the way is a good feature for ELS but It sometimes causes issues and so in order to fix the issue, you turn it off and will have to download a plugin to get that feature back.

I'm not saying the solution is bad. I might try it myself.

 

 

 

Yep. If I remember correctly there are other plugins that do traffic control better than ELS does. ELS just forces the NPC to go full speed ahead to get out of your way. Mainly for clearing intersections as you don't really look behind you to see the chaos after forcing them out of your way. I no longer use it as I use DLS, but I remember turning this feature off in ELS and never noticing any lost features, only that I could actually perform traffic stops without issue.

I don't really like Non-ELS vehicles. I used them myself in the past but since the switch to ELS I've been much happier. 

I'm curious of why people would make the switch back to Non-ELS just because DLS is a thing. 

 

 

 

Kinda getting off topic for the post. But DLS basically is Non-ELS vehicles, just using the vanilla siren settings, overriding it with different patterns. Both systems work great, but I prefer using DLS as it allows vehicle creators to use the extras slots that ELS takes up. I'll be happy to talk about it this more in a separate post if you wanted to continue talking about it.

Anyways, i called it too fast. Problem has not been solved. I still cant get them to stop...if they seem to have stopped and i exit the car to approach them on foot a red writing will pop up saying i ended the traffic stop. Should i install a traffic stop plugin to override this?

Well, the default key for ending a traffic stop is Shift. Have you pressed that by any chance?

Also, you have to get the car fully pulled over. Wait until there is a message saying that you can leave your vehicle and approach the suspect.

I tried with shift but no...nothing changes. The car in front of me is still being spotted with a big red dot on the map but it wont do anything more than what it used to do: run away or not bothering me at all

Neither before it used to. I mean...all they were doing was keep going with their life...and sometimes just start to drive like crazy. I noticed that yesterday...a couple of times when it worked...the car did a blimp of the siren with a sound i was never able to replicate after...like 2 blimps very close to each others...like they to IRL i mean.

Sure, i'll try again. Any tips on how to fix the traffic issue? Also on startup Costal Callouts says that there are 2 lml files...that im not able to delete...may that interfere?
