Constant Crash

Featured Replies

Ok so for some reason my game keeps crashing on start up. I'm not sure why, I've retraced my steps over the last few things I downloaded and can't find anything I may have done wrong. I'm having trouble making sense of the crash report too. To me it just looks like the access violation error. Could someone take a look at my log and maybe help me see something I couldn't see before?

We can't test your mods for you.

What? No that's not what I'm asking for? I need help figuring out why it keeps crashing. The last thing I did as install an add on car pack. I followed the instructions, added the dlcs, added the <item> text to the dlc xml. So what's a common mistake people make when installing these packs that usually breaks the game?

Game crashes typically don't provide any useful information in the Rage log.  The only way to troubleshoot problems with the mods folder is for you to test your mods.  If you believe you installed the mod correctly, then perhaps it's just broken.  I can't tell you what you did wrong since I don't know what you did.

Yeah ok I get what you're saying. I didn't know the crash reports didn't give you info about the mod that causes the crash.

I did however manage to fix it. One of the packs said i would need a limit adjuster to compensate the size of the pack. But when I removed it, it worked again? Doesn't make sense but....whatever i guess 😅

We do not have control over your PC and cannot tell you specifically what to do unless you send us your mods folder which:

1. Is a lot of memory

2. Is unsafe

We are not here to solve your problem. We are here to give guidance on how to solve your problem.

If you know it's in your mods folder, that's our job done. The rest is up to you to do.

Also, you should get used to switching you your mods folder often.

I'm not asking you to do it for me. I made that pretty clear already. I didn't know the crash reports didn't give info on the mods. That's why I posted it here, because I couldn't find anything mod related and wanted a second pair of eyes in case I over looked it. In the process, I retraced my steps and found the issue so everything works now.

And do people really post their entire mods folder? I mean me for example...not a single in game file is default. Every file is custom somehow. That's asking a lil too much of you guys to be like "here tell me what broke"

I'm guessing this is a typo then?

Anyway, happy playing! 🙂
