IT will always be relevant, but IT isn't a static thing - It's ever changing. I've worked in IT for about 7 years and been interested in IT far longer, probably as long as 20 years and during those years so many new things has been introduced so it's much harder for the individual to stay relevant, than it is for IT to stay relevant.
