Game Crashes on Loading Screen

Featured Replies

Hello, I've been having issues with GTA 5 crashing on the loading screen and I can't figure out the issue. I believe everything I have is up-to-date. Looking at the logs, it shows RPH got to the point where it began to load plugins and then the game just closed without any errors and the log had no other information. I removed all the plugins I had in the folder and that still did not fix the issue. I can confirm that GTA 5 will load without RPH. Can anyone help?

Firstly, rename your plugins folder to _plugins. Don't remove them. See if the game runs then.

If it doesn't, reinstall EUP and EUP menu

Reinstalling EUP reminded me that the update.rpf in my mods folder was outdated, so I had OpenIV update that and then I reinstalled EUP and the game still crashes, now it crashes at an earlier point.

Looking at your log this crash is being caused by GTA V not LSPDFR. Try renaming your mods folder to _mods and let me know how it goes

Just tried that, the game still crashes and the log ends at the same point.

Well it still has to be GTA V. LSPDFR hasn't even been loaded by the time it crashed. Have you made any changes in openIV that were not in the mods folder?

Try launching GTA without RAGE.

Adding on to that, if you have made any changes, verify your game cache.

Without RAGE, GTA doesn't crash and loads just fine.

I don't believe I have made any changes in OpenIV outside of my mods folder.

I did that, the game still crashed. I also tried renaming the plugins, scripts, and mods folders to have a _ in front of them and tried launching the game with RAGE after that and the game still crashed.

that doesn't make sense.

why are you putting a _ in front of individual scripts?

May I ask you to name your mods folder to _mods now? (Not anything else)

I put a _ in front of the folder names, not any individual files.

Anyways, I renamed just my mods folder to _mods and the game still crashes.

If disabling everything doesn't work, that means the game itself has a problem.

you say it crashes on Startup?

If it does, Go to Documents/Rockstar Games/Launcher and get me your launcher.log
