Hey Guys i´ve got a Question about if Normal Cops(Patrol Officers) and Sheriff Deputies in USA(not SWAT or Tactical Teams) using Sniper Rifles, be cause i saw a Picture of a Deputy Sheriff in Katy, Texas is using a Sniper Rifle:

Police snipers are usually only seen in a SWAT context. It's otherwise rare that a normal police officer will use a sniper rifle.

its very rare for a uniformed police officer/ sheriff to use a sniper only tactical teams are authorised to use long guns when necessary.

@Officer GILLETTE ABDI In my area there are a lot of smaller agencies that create a multi jurisdictional swat team because they don't need a full time swat team. Those officers and deputies are regular patrol officers that answer calls, but are swat certified and if they have a swat call out they go to it. So I am guessing that is what is going on in Katy.
