If I'm posting this in the wrong place, please let me know, I'm new to using the forums.

 

As of the August 11th update for GTA V to version 2060, LSPDFR is playable with the updated Rage and ScripthookV; however, it is impossible to play with any other plugin that requires altering game files. Like EUP or adding cars. As soon as the Rockstar Launcher comes up to start the game it tells you that you have an update. What this update does is removes any additions you've made to game files. I have not found a way around this issue at all and I'm seeking help. Offline mode doesn't work either, if you alter games files and try to launch in offline mode, it just doesn't launch.

 

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

how are you?

 

You shouldn't have done anything wrong here. Please make sure that you also create the changes in the dedicated mods folder. If you start the game with RagePluginHook, this folder is "preferred". This means that no further data will be requested from RockstarGames for verification.

 

You don't have a mods folder yet?

The Mods folder is not installed by default. You have to create this yourself at the beginning of LSPDFR. To do this, simply create a folder called "mods". Simply copy the following folders from your GTA 5 main directory into the mods folder: "x64" and "update". This can take some time as you are copying your entire game.

 

Please make sure you have enough storage space!

Important! Never edit / change your original files!

Thank you for your response, I am at work right now, but will definitely try to use a mods folder next time I install the mods, I use two seperate SSDs (seperate so I don't accidentally confuse the copies) to hold two seperate copies of the game, one clean and one that I use to mod. I do this specifically so I don't have to use a "mods" folder. I didn't even think that this could work because I never actually thought about it lol, but thinking about it now, it makes sense that it would work since I'm not actually editing the games files directly. You probably already know all this, but writing it all out helps me to talk it through with myself.

 

I will try this when I get home this evening and get back to you about it.

Wanted to let you know that I got home and tried out your solution and it worked like a charm. The Launcher still does an update sequence and replaces the update.rpf in my main folder for some reason even though it's entirely unedited. All this does is confuses OpenIV a little thinking the game got a full new update.

 

Thank you so much for this solution, I've been trying and trying to no avail until now. Usually I'm pretty adept at these sorts of things, but now I feel kind of stupid.
