[REQ] Arlington County VA Police - CVPI & others

Featured Replies

Hey all - new to the LCPD:FR community, and I love what you all have done so far. I would try to make the models myself, but I'm just not a modeler. I've done game development for several other large gaming communities, and I'm a manager and a scripter, not a modeler :p. I really wish I had the creative flare that modelers have. It is really a talent, and you all should be extremely proud of what you can do. It will pay dividends in the long run if and when you decide to start a career in digital design.

Anyway, back to the point. I know EVI released a squad car a while back, and that is almost perfect, but not quite. The Arlington VA Police squad cars are just a little different, and I'd love to get that different functionality in there. I've noted everything about the ACPD squad cars that I can to aid in the development. If you want to use the FCPD car as a stepping stone - it is identical with the exception of the antenna cluster, front grill lights, and the traffic director that was not included. ACPD cars use the TOMAR Blade light bar, which has an integrated traffic director in the rear. In the front are 5 High-Intensity blue LEDs that flash in a random pattern and two take downs on either end that flash wig-wag. The end caps have lights that alternate front/back according to the random pattern and the alley lights wig-wag. 7 High-Intensity blue LED modules in the rear flash at a random pattern with the front unless the traffic director has been turned on. If so, they light up in a center-out configuration.

I think this would be a relatively easy thing to do, with the exception of the traffic director in the light bar. You would need to figure out a way to either take over the back half of the light bar when secondary is on...or on second thought, only use the traffic director when the light bar is totally off. Either works I guess. My idea for making center out would be like this:

[extra_9] [extra_8] [extra_7] [extra_8] [extra_9]

It would only be effective if the user put the secondary setting at scroll right. Otherwise it would just look weird. Also I know there are only 3 extras to choose from, so one set of rear lights would have to get doubled up on. So like,

[extra_9] [extra_8] [extra_8] [extra_7] [extra_8] [extra_8] [extra_9]

or something. I don't really know, someone would have to make that choice for me.

The other thing would be the antenna cluster (1 stubby antenna, one 6 incher, and another stubby one on the roof) and a version with two license plate scanners mounted to the trunk facing outwards (these have four 6 in antennas mounted to the roof in a one foot square pattern to provide data for the scanners).

Again, if anyone would take this up, I would be super omg thankful. I have the skins already, but if you want to make new ones be my guest. I see this as a challenge for you talented folks out there. See if you can get this idea to work!
