Hi guys and girls 

 

Im new to LSPDFR and i have to say its amazing. after watching a particular youtuber play it i thought what the hell it looks like fun and it is, i have managed to install a heap of mods no problem i am very familiar with modding games been doing it for ages, but when it comes to adding additional Vehicles in game i cannot for the life of me get them to work. i can get the vehicle in game and it functions as a vehicle but i cannot get the lights to work. These are ELS models by the way. The rear wigwag lights do their thing and sometimes the front do too. but the main whoop whoop lights either are off or on static no fancy bright flashing. 

 

I will state i have followed several threads on here and nothing.. i have also followed several youtube videos and nothing... they all state the same... go here, drag and drop here, then go here, add this file to here and hey presto your vehicle is in game here it is working good luck... so i do it... and nothing.. what am i doing wrong??? noone ever troubleshoots what to do if it doesnt work!! 

 

Also i haven't tried this but i have seen that you can add a lot of different vehicles by adding a DLC line to the script so you can have several different packs at the same time to stop you changing files over every time you want something new, how true is this or is this once again tinterweb heresay??? 

 

If you read all this then i owe you a cookie and thanks for listening to me blab on ... please can someone help me as im about to just give up and admit im stuck with the standard boring skins for life whilst others can enjoy the pretties

Firs off, welcome to the world of LSPDFR! If the vehicle is ELS, make sure you have the XML files installed into pack_default. If the lights are static, try pressing caps lock. Also, make sure the XML file included with the replace/addon vehicle is matched up to the name of the vehicle.

This is a hundred percent true. There are several premade dlcpacks out there were you can add a bunch of different replace vehicles to it so that you can have a bunch more vehicle than what the base game provides. I can get you the link upon request. 🙂


Finally, yes I want that cookie. That is a promise I will hold you too. XD

hey dude thanks for the reply havent tried the caps lock thing i will try that at next boot and advise, yes all files are named the same the vehicle spawns and looks amazing its just the lights are either on all the time with the wig wags working or off all the time so sad.

Brilliant and yes please some links will be amazing since posting this i did try a dlc pack and everything checked out did the file move in openIV as instructions added the metas in the right places all the code matched the files etc, went in game.. just the standard vehicles nothing new.

No problem! I would try pressing Caps Lock and see if your issue still persists.

To change a replace into its own separate addon, you place the vehicle files in the right location and then you need to create the metas required for this. Get that downloaded and we can go from there.

Answering your second part, try replacing the vehicles in the most recent patchday.
