updating gta5

Featured Replies

I bought a hard drive recently used and it had a bunch of games on it, roughly 75% full of 750 gig drive.

anyways, I played GTA5 single player for a while and got bored, cant figure out a way to launch the game in multiplayer because all the rockstar files are missing.

i downloaded the lspdfr and copied all the files and had it install the in the GTAv directory on the drive, however if i manually launch the lspd or let it auto load it crashes with the 87 error.

My thing is without being able to sign into the rockstar stuff how would I go about downloaded a newest update? Trying to find a rockstar game launcher and seeing if it will update it automatically?

any help with this?

Anyone got a link to a GTA5 latest copy or one that will work with the LSPD

If you have an outdated version of the game, you will need to update it.
Try this:

1. Hit "Start", "Run", and type "cmd" without the quotes. Hit enter.

2. Type "cd c:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V" without the quotes in the cmd window that pops up. If you installed GTAV in a different directory, be sure to type in that directory instead. Hit enter.

3. Type "GTAVLauncher.exe -verify -noChunkedDownload" in this window (no quotes again) and hit enter.

Hope This Helps! 🙂

Another way you can do it is go into your Main Directory and make a shortcut of the GTAVLauncher.exe. Then go into Properties and rename it to add the -verify on the end.

Hope This Helps! 🙂

I should of mentioned but I had already tried that method earlier as well.

Created the shortcut and left it in the main directory, renamed it to GTAVLauncher.exe opened the properties and in the target box added the -verify to the end but it says

about the target file path isnt specific.

I may of misunderstood you wrong so if you dont mind tell me how you add that to the end of the file so it automatically launches it.

Once you make the shortcut for the GTAVLauncher.exe, you then go into Properties. From there, find the line that is called Target. You should make the line like this: "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAVLauncher.exe" -verify Just add the -verify part on the end and then run the shortcut. 🙂

All that did was load GTA beginning story mode like usual. This version of GTA I noticed isn't connected to social club because when I click CAPS to open the menu nothing very appears.

If it isnt a legit copy then you will need to buy the game.
