Patrol Car Radio Dispatch Volume 1.2

(4 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This is a simple mod but for me adds more realism to the game i have always thought radio chatter was to quiet in game this simple mods fixes that

To install you will need openiv and locate x64/audio.sfx/POLICESCANNER.rpf open then replace the random_chat.awc to do this you need to hit edit mode and drag the random_chat.oac into open iv DO NOT DRAG THE FOLDER RANDOM_CHAT INTO OPENIV

this mod  is only the random radio chatter and not all police dispatch chatter  so it wont get annoying going off constantly

Where do the files go? Not enough detail on where the Random_chat.oac file goes! Don't presume that we know what you are talking about...

You dont touch the wav files as i said in the description you locate POLICESCANNER.rpf click and open that and inside is the random_chat.awc you then go to my downloaded file and drag random_chat.oac file into OPENIV and it will be converted if you aren't sure how to use openiv dont just drag wav files in as this will not work and may mess up you're game

You say to replace the original awc file with the one you provided but OpeniIV will NOT let me replace it because they are different extensions. Yours is a .oac and rockstars is a .awc. Clicking and dragging has NEVER had an effect on my OpenIV. It simply doesnt work whether im installing a texture file or a sound file. I have to physically click each file and replace it by hand. So it renders me unable to replace the file with your sound file because they are different extensions. How do I fix this?

i'll admit i'm now having this same issue as Denny

@cameron2408 @Denny Make a new folder in your policechatter download folder (what you downloaded here - name of folder doesn't matter its just temporary) and export the current random_chat.awc from OpenIV to that new folder. Now take all the audio files from the random_chat folder that you downloaded and put them inside the NEW random_Chat folder that you just exported from OpenIV replaceing all the audio files (RANDOMCHAT1,2,3, etc). Last drag the random_chat.oac in the NEW folder to OpenIV POLICE_SCANNER.RPF.

im still getting that same message though even though i've done exactly as you've said

Some files not imported, more information below.

random_chat.oac(Line 1): Not supported format version, actual: "10" but expected "11".

Hmm, I was able to get them imported. Although this seems to be a more widespread problem that everyone is having and sometimes the sounds will become muted anyways. Its a problem with old sounds files with the new OpenIV version. Will have to wait for sound mods to be updated.
