Which one(s) have you used that don't trigger anti piracy measures (On a legit copy)? All the ones I've seen mess up when you enter a car, go in cover, etc.
As far as I can tell the game does not like launching without its launcher.

You can get ahead of a car you're in pursuit with or when they go into an area that is a dead end they will end up coming back through the entrance and you can own there tires with a strip. Try it out. Very satisfying when you do it right!
