Mission: Three Leaf Clover
I am trying to unlock the last part of Liberty City I need, both for the achievement and to increase my patrol route when I launch LCPDFR. I am currently trying to unlock Alderny which means having to do the Bank Robbery mission. However, GTA IV always crashes during this mission and I am, obviously, unable to complete it. Sometimes it'll crash before I rob the bank, other times it'll crash after I have robbed it and am fighting through the army of police and NoOSE officers. It doesn't tell me why it crashes, it just says 'GTA IV has stopped working' which is frustrating. I can't patrol Alderny without completing it. I know I could patrol it by visiting a police station in another part of the city and driving there, but having done that once already, I received no call-outs whilst doing so. Has anyone else here experienced this issue but has found a way to remedy it? If so, could you please share it with me? I had thought of the Diagnostic Tool, but I believe that only finds faults within LCPDFR and not GTA IV itself. Thank you for reading this and I look forward to your replies. Note: I posted this in the GTA IV Support section as it has nothing to do with LCPDFR. It is the game that is crashing during the mission. If this is somehow in the wrong place, I apologise. Please do not give me negative reputation for it. I did do a search for other topics covering this issue but I found nothing.

No "speech", officer sound. How can i fix this?
There are no female cops in GTA IV so there aren't any sounds for them. Unless the person who made the mod made some sounds of their own. If they didn't, then I think the only way you can get sounds is to uninstall the mod and play as a male officer. Every single law enforcement officer in LCPD is male, and when playing as one when LCPDFR is active you will hear the sounds associated with the model you have chosen, unless of course you have selected an FIB agent or an armoured security guard; they have no dialogue as Eagle said in his/her post. I don't think there has ever been a GTA game that has female law enforcers...

GTA 4 wont start from LCPDFR
I had a similar problem. Tom H from LCPDFR told me that right clicking the GTA IV icon and selecting to run it as an administrator would solve it. It worked for me. The only trouble is you have to keep doing it everytime you wish to play. Or at least I do. Because for some reason I amn't an administrator on my own PC. It might be different for you. Anyway, perhaps you could try the same. If this doesn't work, tell us and we'll gladly help.

Since my issues are resolved I no longer need this topic. Can a moderator or admin please close it for me? Thank you. Thanks again for the help, everyone.

SRU Open Recruitment (Roleplay Group)
I was thinking of joining something like this, (or perhaps start my own Precint/Unit/Division), because it makes the idea of playing GTA IV online more appealing to me. But I don't think I'll be applying if the leader(s) of this group haven't been on for three weeks. Such a shame too, was a nice idea. So for now, I'll just stick to offline play. Such as pulling taxis over and getting into pursuits/gun fights with the drivers. :P

I just thought I should let you know that the faults I was experiencing with ELS v6 were entirely my own. Despite knowing already, for some reason it never even occured to me that .rar files needed winRAR before they could be properly used. I only realised my embarrassing error after watching a video I found on YouTube. I then downloaded and installed winRAR and was able to make use of the ELS file I downloaded previously. Many thanks to everyone who helped; all of my issues are resolved and I am a very happy gamer! It couldn't of been done without you. Seriously, thank you very, very much. :D

Editing Textures
I don't know how to do that. Spark IV confuses the hell outta me, and I'm usually very good with this sort of thing... :(

Windows 7 Home Edition
Thank you everyone for the help so far. My career as a member of Liberty City's Finest is almost complete. I literally couldn't of done it without you. :D That said, there is some bad news. I am still having trouble downloading, installing and running ELS v6. I am only getting one file, and it appears in the form of a Notepad document, which I have no idea how to change back to its proper state, as the methods I have tried are not working. Something tells me I am meant to get more than one file, as is the case with vehicle downloads. I've downloaded a few new cars but the flashing lights on them aren't working as they are all ELS enabled and that's the only mod that I have left to install. Can anyone please help me get this resolved? It's really frustrating. :( [if I could show you exactly what it was that downloads for me, I would. I could maybe email it to you?] (If that breaks or violates any rules I apologise; I just really want to get this up and running.)

Windows 7 Home Edition
I'm confused as to why it isn't working then. I tried to download it again but am still being told that the folder is empty. When trying to extract the contents, I get the following error message: 'Cannot Complete the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard The compressed (zipped) folder is empty. Before you can extract files, you must copy files to this compressed (zipped) folder.' And when I try to open it without extracting, I get this: 'The Compressed (zipped) folder is invalid.' Edit: I probably should've mentioned this earlier but my copy of GTA IV is a store bought copy. I didn't get it through Steam. SparkIV still doesn't work for me either. It wouldn't let me do anything when I started it so I tried to run it as an Administrator but that failed to solve the problem as well. I kept getting the 'SparkIV has stopped working' error message before it had even loaded.

Thank you. I downloaded and tried to use SparkIV but I was unable to do anything with it. All of the buttons were greyed out. I'm a noob when it comes to this sort of thing. I don't know what to back up, I don't know where to put things and I don't know where things are. :( Does SparkIV need to be installed, or does it just run when you use the application? Edit: The link for ELS V6 in Tom H's signature works, but the zip folder it downloads is empty.

Windows 7 Home Edition
Thank you very much for the replies guys. They are greatly appreciated. I'm going to re-install everything and I'll let you know how it goes. Edit: Thanks guys. Everything you suggested worked fine. The only other issue I am having is that I have no idea what to do with the vehicle models I have downloaded. I have no idea how to get them into the game for use. Any tips? :)

Windows 7 Home Edition
Greetings everyone. I am very new to this website and after doing a quick search for 'Windows7', 'Windows7Home', 'Windows7Crash' and other variants, I found no topics relating to this issue. If it turns out there are in fact topics regarding this issue already, and I, for some reason, missed them, could you please direct me to them and I apologise for posting this. I have been thinking to myself that being a police officer on GTA IV would be brilliant, and when I finally discovered this Mod a week ago, I was really excited and couldn't wait to try it out. I immediatley installed GTA IV and downloaded LCPDFR. I am running Windows 7 Home edition, Service Pack 1 and GTA IV installed perfectly without any problems, so I assumed I'd be able to use this mod. However, I couldn't install the mod right away as I was missing the .NET Framework and Games for Windows Live. After installing the 2 missing items LCPDFR installed successfully, which lead me to believe it'd work and I'd be able to play. But, when I tried to run GTA IV to go on duty I got an error that GTA IV had stopped running when it hadn't even started. This happened a few times before I finally got angry and uninstalled everything. Now, I know I ideally should've made a note of what error I was experiencing, but it was along the lines of it not being able to create a folder and access was denied. I was really disappointed as I was really excited and looking forward to finally being a police officer. Are there any known issues with Windows 7? Are there any known methods to resolve them? If so, can you please let me know as I am still very excited about this Mod.
