ScripthookDotNet is causing my LSPDFR to crash, need help
The issue could be one of your scripts, if you have any. Out of date scripts can cause crashes which then appear to be dotnet related because things work when it's removed. Test your scripts if you're running any.

Vehicles
There's really no such thing as "optimized for police2", or "this works better in sheriff2 slot". All cars will work in any slot, you just need to edit the handlingid, audionamehash and if applicable, the sirensetting in the carvariations. The reason some files say "optimized for" is due to them including a vehicles.meta that changes the handlingid so the vehicle won't flip, or a carvariation with a custom sirensetting.

Pointless Features
The ability to have your own character isn't just about roleplay, it's about diversity and having your own character - even yourself in the game. Take a look at all the screenshots and videos of LSPDFR, how many people actually use the vanilla officer/deputy peds vs their own custom ped? Even back in 0.3, people were using Skin Creator and/or EUP to have their own character. 0.4 introduced the character system because it was wanted, and because it is being used like crazy. No one is forcing you to take extra time to make a character. Just click done when the character creator comes up and you're good to go with the default that comes up. Will even said as long as you have a character made all you have to go is load LSPDFR and forceduty - you're good to go like in 03. Having read through this thread, it seems to me like the heart of the issue is the crashing and potentially other issues you're experiencing. I'm sorry that you're having problems, and we'd be glad to help if you want to make a new thread. However, there are plenty of reasons as to why the game crashes, and I've yet to run into any issues that were a result of character creation.

LSPDFR Crashes On Load Up :(
Were you editing the XMLs? If so, you made a slight mistake. See here in the log. If you did edit something, go triple check your work. It should recognize the mods folder by default, assuming you set everything up right. In OpenIV, go to Tools-->ASI manager. Make sure the first two options are installed.

I wanted to chime in and address this part. LSPDFR is roleplay. You're playing as a cop and doing things cops would do in real life (excluding the people who just mess around and do bad cop). When you approach a driver's door on a traffic stop, do you even think it in your head saying hello to the driver? When near a fellow officer, do you say hello? If yes, that is roleplay. A vast majority of the community - myself included - roleplay the hell out of LSPDFR to the point where we go and investigate scenes in depth even after we've shot the suspect, cleared the crash scene, etc. Roleplay has been around for decades, even back to things you may not even realize is considered roleplay. It's much more popular than people realize. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with just hopping in to pull people over, give them a ticket and move on. Roleplay is not mandatory with LSPDFR, but it does enhance the gameplay significantly.

Vehicles
I had a look at the file page and no one else has reported this - granted there are no reviews either. Did you install the vehicle into a policeold slot? If yes, the carvariations need to be updated so that lightsettings is set to 1. If no to the above, is this happening on other models, or just this one? If just this one, then it could be an issue with the model. You could try PM'ing Tactical Potato and asking him. Here's a link to the file so you can get to his profile if needed, or even try redownloading.

How to install a trailer?
In OpenIV, navigate to mods-->update-->x64-->dlcpacks-->From here, choose the highest numbered patchday, such as patchday24, 25 or whatever that number is. I'm a few versions behind so I have no idea what the current patchday is. --> dlc-->x64-->levels-->gta 5-->vehicles. Click "edit mode" in OpenIV. Drag and drop the trailer files in. Click "edit mode" again, and you're set.

[ELS] RX2700 2014 Ford Expedition
I've always been annoyed by the lack of Expeditions in GTA V, especially when you consider there a thousand Explorers, Tahoes, Vics etc. Thanks for making this, absolutely love the lights. Probably my favorite thing is that you mapped the light bar to warning lights, so we can just run those if we want. Also, just so you know, your description includes a "must use carvariations and meta", may wanna remove that so folks don't get confused. 🙂

Vehicle mods
As an addition to the above, you don't need to use older patchdays or even x64e. The very newest/latest patchday, which has the highest number (patchday28, 29, etc) works for all the emergency vehicles.

You're welcome. 🙂 I just had a look, the ELS download contains a user guide which goes in depth about the options in the VCF.

els xml files?
Have you seen the CHP's cars an how they always have one red light that's always on when the lights are on? That is steady burns. Not too sure about takedowns mirrored, but my assumption is that it means the takedowns appear behind the car. Scene lights - You know how when police are on a scene and they have a mobile command center that has bright flood lights on to provide lighting? That is what scene lights are. Honestly, you really don't even need to know half of what's in the VCF. The only thing you need to know is LstgActivationType Acoronas headlights and tailights (for wigwag) Misc - VehicleIsSlicktop. Setting this to true means the vehicle is a slicktop or unmarked, therefore it does not have full environmental lighting. The red/blue environment lights will only flash front and back. Obviously, some slicktop and unmarked cars have 360 lighting, whether it be a siderunner or side window lights. In those cases, leave it at false. WRNL, PRML and SECL lights. Everything else doesn't matter, though I have no idea what sequential does for scan patterns.

Based off what you've said you already do have a basic understanding. What part(s) of the VCF specifically would you like explained?

Better inis
From what little information he provided, I believe the INIs have controller friendly control set ups.
