    hey all, 
    Currently i have a core 2 quad @ 2.83 and 4 gb ram. Considering current games and the future, this build is lacking (havent upgraded in 6-7 years lol.) Anyways, should i invest in slightly cheaper and slightly older tech such as the intel i7 4790k @ 4ghz/ddr3 ram or i7 6700k @ 4ghz/ddr4 ram. I would be getting 32gb of RAM, so that i wouldnt need to upgrade for another 5-6 years. I already own a strix gtx 970 with 4gb vram. upgrading my mobo from core 2 series to i series is a given, so this isn't an issue. the main thing is lga 1150 vs 1151 with a ~$100 increase with the latter. dont know if it is or is not worth it for the long run. also, i would probably get an h170 chipset rather than a z170 cos i dont really overclock and i would only ever have 1 gpu card.
