Throughout early renditions of the Grand Theft Auto series, money seemed superfluous. Completing GTA 3 for the first time left me with well over a million dollars in my virtual wallet with nothing to spend it on. When its successor was released a year later, money became an integral part of the game, almost like a silent second protagonist.
The GTA Online December 2025 Update, which official name is not known yet, is coming soon to GTA Online, most likely on December 9, 2025, adding one of the luxury features that has been requested by players for years: Mansions.
GTA has become one of the most prominent franchises in the history of gaming, and that's a fact. The games in this franchise have become almost too big to fail. However, Rockstar can't keep getting away with doing the same things over and over again, especially with its online mode, so it will have to make major changes with GTA 6 Online.
GTA VI is shaping up to be a generational defining piece of media, with an unparalleled level of detail, depth and attention poured into it - as we've come to expect from Rockstar over the years. This has caused speculation about game mechanics and features to run rampant, with fans pondering about what new features and mechanics would be introduced to evolve the Grand Theft Auto franchise to new levels.
