Sgt. Robert McLinen stands in front of the Yellow Jack awaiting fellow deputies, before beginning a celebration of life for their fallen brother.

 

At approx. 12:30PM PST, Deputy II Chuck Yorbi was struck and run over by a vehicle on Union Road, near US Route 13,  just outside of Sandy Shores, while conducting an investigation into a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputy Yorbi died of his injuries at the scene before paramedics arrived.

The vehicle that is suspected of striking Yorbi was a light grey VAPID SPEEDO, partial plate 'DY837". Anyone who has any information leading to the apprehension of the person(s) involved is asked to contact their local BCSO detachment.
