Welcome to Inside the  LSCSO, Today we pay visit to the aviation unit. Having just received new funding to replace the outdated squirrel helicopter previously in service with the office The unit has had a complete overhaul.  Flight officer Jones can be seen here with the new addition to the fleet, the Euro copter EC135. Not only have the unit received a new helicopter, the unit has moved base to Vespucci Heliport. The move is in line with current budget requirements and it is estimated that the move with save the office $50,000 per year. 

The new helicopter is equipped with a movable ball camera turret,with live  television broadcast link to enable deputies at headquarters the ability to watch live feed from the helicopter. The Camera has the ability to zoom from x10 to x200 magnification and has a full thermal imagery capability. 

The helicopter is also fitted with a nitesun spot light. Capable of providing day light conditions to deputies on the ground with its 30 million candle power lamp. Further to this the helicopter has a  detachable sky shout system to enable deputies to communicate with people on the ground in public order situations and large scale disorder.  

This helicopter can be utilized in all situations, from tracing missing persons and stolen vehicles, to providing tactical over watch for deputies and assisting in the tactical phase of police pursuits, There isn't anything this helicopter cant be used for !
