Police chase ends in death of suspect - West Vinewood
WEST VINEWOOD - A police chase that began at just past 5:00 AM ended fatally this morning when the suspect, an as-yet-unidentified female aged 25-30, was fatally shot after becoming trapped in a disused parking lot in upper West Vinewood.
Police and bystander testimonials claim that the suspect was boxed into the lot by one of the two cruisers involved. When ordered to leave her vehicle at gunpoint, the suspect instead accelerated the car forward, seemingly in an attempt to hit one Officer Lyle Miller and the cruiser behind him. Miller fired one round directly into the driver's seat area, hitting the suspect below one eye and causing the vehicle to collide with the wall next to the lot exit. The suspect was reportedly killed by the shot, and was unable to be revived by paramedics. No other major injuries were sustained, though Miller was hit by shrapnel and was taken to the Los Santos Medical Center.
The pursuit reportedly began when the suspect made a left turn while Officer Miller's cruiser was crossing an intersection, nearly hitting the police car and causing a small traffic jam. The suspect refused to pull over and was chased from lower Vinewood through several major thoroughfares before turning into the parking lot which would become the site of the shooting. The vehicle, a silver sedan of unknown make and model, was damaged heavily and was towed away to an impound lot. The area around the incident has been cordoned off by investigators.
