Though, we wanted to try something different and original, so we went with it to see how it would turn out. Me personally, it was worth it seeing that I myself have not seen an explorer with that light bar so far that is.. Someone did mention to me that the explorer with that light bar would like a little better as a beach police of some sort. But I guess it really boils down to taste when it comes down to it. But hey, atleast now, if someone wants to get an idea about what an explorer looks like with a whelen edge 9000, then I guess this would be the place to come! haha.
Crizby Members March 29, 201511 yr Author stats I think the FPIU looks great with the Edge. I love seeing 'older' light-bars on the newer generations of police cruisers. My personal favorite is the Caprice PPV with the rotator FS Vista. Also, the livery looks very nice and clean.
Black Jesus Members March 29, 201511 yr Author stats I think a Whelen Freedom would be a nice compromise. Get the same basic look of the edge, but with leds

I cant explain why, but I too enjoy the older style lightbars as well, its just something about them.

In fact, that didn't cross my mind until you mentioned it! Sounds like something worth looking into an experimenting with!
Pengi Members March 30, 201511 yr Author stats Something neat to consider as well instead of doing a recycled lightbar program is to consider fleet progression. That is, have your crown vics, impalas, 08 Chargers etc with a certain decal theme and light setup. Then with your 13 and up units(13 charger, FPIS, FPIU) change the decal and update the lightbar(Whelen Edge --> Whelen Legacy, Liberty, Liberty II). Not many people put in the effort to do fleet progression, but it is one of my favorite things to do with the packs I play in game. Having vics ranging from 2001-2011 and all other vehicles ranging from 2001-2016 is awesome.
VooDoob Members March 30, 201511 yr Author stats I was just going to say, IDK why I like the edge on this FPIU, but I do! Looks nice!
