Just a little fyi Oh? I didn't know that, it's because of hardcore mode, I don't really like being shot. Thats actually really weird, in the UK it's the opposite, its weird to see them ride alone. In the US, at least outside of larger citites, it's 'weird' seeing an Officer or Deputy with a partner if they are a regular patrol unit. Their 'partner' rides in his/her own cruiser. In Florida for example I don't think any county or city have partners in the same cruiser once the field training is finished (I'm not 100% sure about that though, I haven't seen one so far).

Heres a really good reason why in the UK the officers don't ride alone: http://news.sky.com/story/1431286/bodycam-captures-vicious-attack-on-officer Unlike in the US and around the world, the UK officers don't have a firearm to defend themselves, so they often have to rely on CS gas or their baton, whilst its not an issue of guns it is an issue of aggressive behaviour towards the officers, drunk in this case, but often the case. They must have a lot of cruisers then, a car per cop seems really expensive, but thanks.
