Just outta curiosity, do the Brazilian military police in real life do regular police task? I mean, patroling, responding calls and so.

Just outta curiosity, do the Brazilian military police in real life do regular police task? I mean, patroling, responding calls and so.

According to Wikipedia they do. However they only police the State/Federal Districts; They are more or less equivalent to a State Police department. 

Now I could be wrong, but that's what I got from reading the Wiki page.

Yeah, In Brazil we have Military Police equivalent to a State/County Police in US (each state has one)the Military Police is responsible for maintaining public order, they patrolling the cities ,responding call...the basic patrol stuff . We also have Civil Police ( this police department is the opposite, The investigation of crimes, such as detective work, forensics and criminal investigation, is handled by them)something like that
