Pursuit ends in Fatal Shooting

Around 8:30 pm today, Deputy Sheriff John Andrews initiated a traffic stop on a black 4 door sedan. As he approached the vehicle, the driver reached under his seat and brought out a weapon and shot at Andrews. Andrews then returned fire shattering the window. Andrews then returned to his vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit.

Agencies from Liberty County Sheriff's Office, and City Police joined in the pursuit. The pursuit ended in Schottler when Andrews preformed a P.I.T. maneuver The driver and passenger proceeded out of the vehicle and started to shoot at Deputies and Officers. Law Enforcement returned fire, in which they fired over a combined 50 shots.
