els xml files?

Featured Replies

ive recently been fixing the xml file for vcf but theirs some i dont understand anyone have a breakdown of what it all means and what changing it will do for example( i know that changing activation type from auto to manual puts it to three stages instead of one click what about the arrow board and use steady burn or scene lights and take downs, i have them enabled by default. i finally fixed the cruise lights by setting extra 1 and extra 4 to true when enabled) any help is appreciated just trying to understand so that when i download car packs i can fix ELS VCF files to my liking instead of using cars i dont want but els functions i do want

Based off what you've said you already do have a basic understanding.  What part(s) of the VCF specifically would you like explained?

what does the use of steady burn true or false do as well as take downs mirrored, scene lights, light format ive seen strb, traf, led idk what setting them to diff things would do and i figured out how to set custom scan pattterns but what does  sequential true or false do? sorry i know thats alot but im new to modding still and like to customize other stuff thats out there already for my personal use because i dont have the equipment or knowledge to just make it myself. took forever to figure out the whole district xml thing to get cars to spawn where i want them too. i use a combo of the ky car pack from blueghost and a texture file for Georgetown ky pd that i paid someone to make and asked them to release publicly.

in fact if i could figure out how to make custom packs with the cars i want so i can change them whenever would be great, like how ghost did with the ky car pack i just constantly use police 1234 etc and after awhile it corrupts and i have to delete and start all over. ever since ghost made that pack its helped so much with my pc running smoother because its a dlc instead of a replacement.

Have you seen the CHP's cars an how they always have one red light that's always on when the lights are on?  That is steady burns.

Not too sure about takedowns mirrored, but my assumption is that it means the takedowns appear behind the car.

Scene lights - You know how when police are on a scene and they have a mobile command center that has bright flood lights on to provide lighting?  That is what scene lights are.

Honestly, you really don't even need to know half of what's in the VCF.  The only thing you need to know is

  • LstgActivationType
  • Acoronas headlights and tailights (for wigwag)
  • Misc - VehicleIsSlicktop.  Setting this to true means the vehicle is a slicktop or unmarked, therefore it does not have full environmental lighting.  The red/blue environment lights will only flash front and back.  Obviously, some slicktop and unmarked cars have 360 lighting, whether it be a siderunner or side window lights.  In those cases, leave it at false.
  • WRNL, PRML and SECL lights.

Everything else doesn't matter, though I have no idea what sequential does for scan patterns.

Is there a way to setup the file to where the headlight wags and taillight wags come on in stage 3 instead of stage 2?

I just had a look, the ELS download contains a user guide which goes in depth about the options in the VCF.
