Pursuit Pit

Featured Replies

I'm still fairly new to LSPDFR. I love it (especially with the mods I've installed), but... pursuits is a bit of a weird one to me.

I remember reading in the update, and watching on the YT videos that there is a "working" pit maneuver now, but that does not seem to be the case. You can of course pit a car, but they just keep driving after you do it. Is there a way to get this to properly work to where it does in fact disable the vehicle?

Other things it just... seems like this mechanic needs a lot of work. For example, when I call backup... the backup shows up of course, but it seems like they just disappear a few minutes later. It gets to where I am literally the only car left in the pursuit, unless I call more backup. This doesn't seem intended or realistic, but do you guys also have that issue?

Most of the time, I end up having to end the pursuit by shooting out the tires... which I don't like because again, its not realistic. But, I think the pursuit would quite literally last forever unless I do that. I know about the "tactics" in the menu, but I have not once seen the AI use tactics, nor do they work for me. Usually if I try to block the car, you know, it will just hop over my car and drive off a cliff and roll a few times and then just keep driving, like in real life.

Any tips on how to end a pursuit in a semi-legit way? Or is this just how it is...

I could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing about a working PIT in 0.4.  I know the AI police can pit now, however.

A lot of what you're talking about can be solved with other mods.

- Request pit, PoliceSmartRadio.  This will make it so that when you pit a car, there is a chance the car will become disabled.

- Backup staying on scene, Ultimate Backup.

- I covered how to end a chase with PSR, but you can also request spike strips with SmartRadio.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂
