Rage won't load - GTA V has exited unexpectedly error

Featured Replies

Hi, My son is running GTA V on PC, had Rage etc all installed and worked fine a few months ago but hadn't played it for a while. I updated the game for him yesterday and Rage wouldn't work - kept getting the error mentioned in title and options to 'OK' 'Retry' or 'Safe Mode' none of which did anything

I removed GTA and installed again and also installed LSDFR again but same thing keeps happening

Any suggestions please??

Hi @steveb,

Can you post the .log document with the information what kind of error(s) you getting?
Ragepluginhook.log    (D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\ragepluginhook.log)

I posted mine here...
I'm having the same problem.. but my log register stops after "checking game support"... Don't know why???
Hope to found somebody with a solution...

RagePluginHook.log

I think i have found the solution...

Make an exception with your virus scanner....  for me that was this folder:  D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V

And after that it run's for me without any error 🙂

Hopefully it will stay working... and works for you and other people too!

This worked, thanks for sharing, wish I’d have figured that before uninstalling everything and starting again!

I'm having the same problem however I tried turning off the antivirus features on the PC and it's still crashing.  The game loads and runs but as soon as I load LSPDFR with RageHook the game freezes and closes out

Maybe only turning off your antivirus isn't inuf... you really should try to make an exception for your game folder...
The other things you can try is tu run it on low settings... if it will run smoother with low settings without freezing, then it is your video settings/drivers...

Hope this will work for you...
