Car modding questions

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I cannot find a definite answer on this on GTAVmods and LSPDFR, and frankly I'm getting frustrated trying to make it work.

I am attempting to use a megapack:

-

What I know:

- How to add textures to vehicles

- I know there's a way to make a dlc.rpf but I don't know how to do it

- add mods via dlc method

- edit dispatch.meta and agencies.xml

- basic stuff (moving/renaming files)

What I want to do:

1. I want to use the LSPD---> reskinned to LAPD pack as follows:

I want to run the LAPD Taurus as police (Replacement)
LAPD '14 Charger (default police3) as police2 (Replacement)
LAPD CVPI (default police) as police3 (Replacement)
Clear the Police4 slot for adding an unmarked CVPI of my choice
LAPD FPIU/Explorer '13 (default police3) as Police5 (additional)
LAPD Tahoe (default police4) as Police5 (additional)

2. I want to use the  LSPD---->reskinned to LASD cars as sheriff units:
I want to run the LASD CVPI as Sheriff (replacement)
LASD Tahoe (default police4) as Sheriff2 (replacement)
LASD FPIU '16 (default police3) as Sheriff3 (additional)
LASD Taurus (default police5) as Sheriff4 (additional)

3. I want to add this LAPD Caprice as an additional police (7-8)

I am guessing the best method (and possibly the only method) to do what I want is by making my own dlc.rpf and but I don't know how that would work with this. Help, please.

Dlcpacks are just a personal preference.  You can easily install standalone/add-on cars.  For 1, just replace the already there slots with the car.  You will need to go in and give them the proper handlingid in the vehicles.meta.  Here's a list of which handlingid to use for which car -

For installing add-on cars  -
