When Upgrading the Vehicle in The Police Garage

Is it just me or is anybody else having problems with upgrading the vehicle in the police garage? When I upgrade just the brakes, it turns the police vehicle into a race car with all the components attached to it. And when I try to fix it and try to take all the components to the normal ones, I hit the apply button, and it resets all of them to the race car components again. It seems like another bug that is in the mod and seems like it needs to be corrected.
