Whenever I patrol the country side, usually on the Eastern side by the highways, park rangers always respond to my backup requests. Is there any way that I can swap them out for LSSD backup units?

You can alter your backup.xml file in the lspdfr/data folder to choose which units respond to you backup requests.  By changing the agency from sapr to lssd in ther MountChilliad region you should solve your issue. I've included an example belowe with the part you need to alter highlighted.

I did this, and SAPR are still responding to my backup requests. Is it something with Ultimate Backup maybe?

Potentially yes, however i've not used ultimate backup personally so can't say for sure

This is why I usually reserve the pranger slot for state or county unit vehicles, so just in case park rangers do respond its still technically a sheriff or statie by vehicle.

If your using ultimate backup to call for backup then you need to remove the park ranger from the CustomsRegions folder in plugins>lspdfr>ultimatebackup>CustomsRegions.

 

Remove the part highlight in this SS.

After playing a little longer, I've realized that SAPR are still responding to my calls. Are there possibly any other files I need to edit?

Did you update Ultimate Backup today? If so you would need to redo that step.
