Let's start at the beggining, I download GTA IV off of steam several weeks ago with lcpdfr in mind. I got the game online from steam and downloaded it and about 9 hours later the installation was complete, Then i downloaded lcpdfr. Launched the game and was able to go on duty and everything worked fine. Then i had problems with car mods. Nothing would work. So tonight i re-installed GTA IV and i am just wondering What all do i need to make this game run perfectly and by that i mean what current updates do i need what patches and so on? Can someone help me please??

You need patch 1.0.7.0. But, you should already have that since Steam usually has all the updates for a game available included in the download. If you're using ELS enabled cars, you need to download ELS. Which can be found here ==>http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=196

He said he had problems with car mods, not the game crashing...just saying, LOL.

Sometimes you get an outdated mod that hasn't been updated in a long time, or it has bug's that haven't been worked out and left by the author, ELS will also crash your game so i recommend ELS V5 not ELS V6, V6 may be newer, but it has more bugs then V5, if you have an ass ton of car mods installed, i would only keep maybe 1 or 2 and the police vehicles you want, i only install civillian car model's if i'm not playing on duty, which is rare.

So is there, or is there no actual problem with LCPDFR here? Are you just looking to find what stuff you need to run the game perfectly?

you need to make a new folder in rockstargames for gta4, then mod that one with car mods, and then copy the vehicles.img over to the one in the steamapps

Now im having a problem. Now that i've downloaded ELS and one car i cant go on duty.
