I dont know y but every time i try to start the game it goes black and thean returns me to my desktop without saying that gta 4 has stopped working or anything . I have taken out some files that i thought were part of a vehicle pack but ever since i have done tht it crashes. Can someone please help me with this.

    Try running as Administrator, and if that does not work I would try a fresh install of Grand Theft Auto 4. I would assume your computer is strong enough to handle the game right?

    It is but with modding unfortunately comes errors its all part of it sometime's. I just back up the whole game on an external hard drive so if i mod something and it goes wrong its all at hand ;o) let me know how you get on bud...

    If your computer can't handle it, try turning the graphic settings down a bit. This reduces the lag & a few game crashes.

    1.) make sure vsync is off that's only for higher end computers

    2.) If you have it on steam do a Verify integrity of game cache must faster than reinstall as it finds files that shouldnt be there ( such as modded cars and what not) and deletes them. Pretty much like a fresh install with out the 5 hour wait this takes about 35 minutes.
