Downloading vehicles with no .meta files

Featured Replies

I have been wanting to download police vehicles for a while, and I just started to do it. I started with just one vehicle and it worked properly, but then I tried downloading another one and it didn't work. So I thought about it and I realized that the only difference between the first and the second one was that the first one had a .meta file and the other did not, so I just tried a different vehicle and none of the ones that I download have a .meta file. Is it possible to not use a .meta file and still use the vehicle?

Vehicles that come with a meta file may have one or two changes, such as handlingid, or audionamehash.  It's perfectly fine if a vehicle comes without a .meta file, you don't need it.

Honestly, you don't even need to install the vehicles.meta that come with the vehicles.  You can easily change it yourself.

Thank you very much! I did get a couple of cars working after I posted this so it must have been operator error. Thanks again!

I also have one more question that is not related to this, if I am downloading a vehicle (Say it is police2.yft and police2.ytd and so on) if it is not in patchday one should I put it in patchday one or find the one that it is in and replace it there?

The vehicle you're wanting to replace does not have to be in the patchday in order for it to work.  If you put the police2 files in patchday17/18 (whichever is the newest), it'll replace and work just fine.
