No "speech", officer sound. How can i fix this?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a big problem:

The LCPDFR Mod works great but i can´t hear something if i press NUMPAD 4 etc. I only see the "gestures" but there´s no audio.

I can´t even hear the "pull over megaphone sound"! I think that the mod don´t find the audio files?! I don´t habe an idea.

I tried to reinstall the game but the "audio error" is still present.

Help me, please!

It depends on what ped you have chosen. If you have chosen FBI agent/armoured security by any chance, you won't get any sound while doing traffic stop. Try using police officer or traffic officer or state trooper.

Thank´s for your answer, but it doesn´t matter which "player" i use! I tried everything. But i´m using the "female cop mod" and changed some values in the ped.ide etc. Could this be the problem? I forgot to create a backup -..-

There are no female cops in GTA IV so there aren't any sounds for them. Unless the person who made the mod made some sounds of their own. If they didn't, then I think the only way you can get sounds is to uninstall the mod and play as a male officer. Every single law enforcement officer in LCPD is male, and when playing as one when LCPDFR is active you will hear the sounds associated with the model you have chosen, unless of course you have selected an FIB agent or an armoured security guard; they have no dialogue as Eagle said in his/her post. I don't think there has ever been a GTA game that has female law enforcers...

On the stock cop models it must work (except fbi/security). On the other note, you say you didn't backup peds.ide, okay I hope you have stock models. Just post lines you were changing in peds.ide and I'll fix it.

The peds.ide you edited does have controls for voice so it's possible you messed up something there.

Ok, i fixed the "speech problem". But i have still a strange problem: I can´t hear the "pull over" sound, if i´m in the car. If the siren are on and i press Numpad 1, the siren interrupts for some moments, but i can´t hear the pull over speech!!!

Are you playing as a regular police officer? I know this has already been asked and it was established that you weren't, so I will politely say again that the FIB agents and armoured security guards have no dialogue at all, wether it be on foot or in a squad car. In order to hear any dialogue, you MUST play as a uniformed male officer; either the fat model or the skinny one. Hope this helps. Just ignore this if you are playing as a regular male officer. We'll gladly help if you are still having this problem. Just let us know.

Hi!

Thank you for your answer but i´m playing a regular male officer everytime! The stange thing is the fact, that i now hear the "Speech" (pressing NUM 1,4,7) if i´m not in car. If i get into a patrole car and press Numpad 1 or the "car pullover button", i can´t hear the "police, pull over!!! etc.". It´s very strange!!!

That is indeed strange. I'll do some digging and see if I can find a potential fix for you.

Yes, really strange :-(...! It´ll be cool if you find a fix for my problem. My first problem was the fact, that i had NO OFFICER SOUND. And after i deleted an old script (turn on lights without siren script), the problem was solved. But my old problem with the megaphone (the pull over speech) is back!!!! Hmmm....

I FOUND THE SOLUTION:

I had to change the audio settings in the GTA IV game settings. I activated "5.1" but after i changed this to "stereo", i heared the "pull over speech"...!

Well done then. Sorry I took so long in getting back to you. I found a load of possible fixes to this bug posted on other forums, but they all ended up bugging something else. Hardly a fix, eh? Anyway, I did come across that fix but I didn't have the time to post it for you. Congratulations on figuring it out for yourself.

Question, is there a way to remove the whole hotkey in general? It's so annoying hearing "PULL OVER. NOW!" :/

If you don't want to hear the dialogue, might I kindly suggest that you play a unit that has none, such as the FIB agent or the Security guard?

^^...well, i found the "complete solution": It was just a wrong setting in my notebook soundcard options^^. Now i have a "5.1 Sound" (not only stereo) and the pull over sound etc.
