Ok I've deleted my mods folder completely and my game still crashes. Help please!!!

A lot more information is required.  What exactly is happening?  When did it start?  Did you add anything new?

I just updated everything as usual and and now the game crashes on the load screen. I've done everything including a fresh install

Did you also update the update.rpf in your mods folder?

Yup. updated it all.

Temporarily rename your mods folder to_mods

 

Now try loading in.  Does it work?

no it still crashes

Unfortunately, since you haven't provided any information pertaining to your issue, the best thing I can offer is removing your recent mods.

 

Also try loading into GTA via the GTA 5.exe and go into single player.  Does it work?

it does but the game does something weird. for example the mission where michael confronts trevor in north yankton, I get all the through the first part, but when its the scene for trevor to fly back, all that happens is the horizon apears and the background music plays, but the plane never appears and I have to force close the game

Try verifying integrity of game cache.  Since your game is messing up in the non Rage version, the either is with your scripts, .asi plugins, or the game data itself.

I did it and it doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the game itself.

Because the game is messing up during the story, I'm inclined to believe the issue is either with the game, or your computer.  When you load into GTA, it automatically has you on a mission, right?

Once I load into the story I'm wherever I last saved the game, in free story mode.

Please attach your Rage log located in the main GTA V directory.
