GTA Crashing when LSPDFR initialised

Featured Replies

Hi guys, for about a 6 months I have ran into this issue either with lspdfr or rph, which is when lspdfr starts initializing it instantly crashes with a load of warning messages saying lspdfr has crashed on the left side of my screen.  After hours and hours of browsing forms I have read multiple support forums with the same issue but no definitive solution to the issue and everything I have tried like giving rph administrative privileges and managing permissions of the files in my modded GTA directory to have full access unfortunately has been no success. The way I use to overcome this issue was to restart my computer entirely and then immediately launch rph and that often seemed to work however it is no longer working by doing that. I can't understand why this is  because it use to run fine, I haven't changed its directory at all in the past year and I have tried removing all lspdfr plugins that I have added on but did nothing to help. I have also tried setting up LSPDFR and RPH many times with a new gta directory to see if it was anything I had done to corrupt any files but I get the exact same issue. ( I also run rph and gta in Windows 8 compatibility mode because that has helped to solve issues in the past). Honestly any help would be  gratefully appreciated as this issue is now driving me mad.

Open the Rage settings and look under "advanced settings".  You'll see an option, "Enable counter measures against online vehicles from being removed in single player" is checked.  Uncheck this option, save and launch.

Thanks for the reply but I have tried this multiple times and unfortunately no success, it still comes up with the same issue

Here's my log

RagePluginHook.log

Go into your plugins folder and right click LSPD First Response.dll-->properties.  If anything says "unblock", unblock it.   Also make sure "read only" is not selected.

Now do the same for LSPD First Response.pdb

I have done this also, no success here. I find it weird how this issue has been intermittently recurring, some days lspdfr would work fine no issues and some days without touching any of the files this error would appear but recently it seems to have been very glitchy and now it won't even get past the launcher without coming up with this error.

The fact that GTA V itself won't start implies either an issue with your game, or your PC.  Try either allowing GTA V as an exception in your anti-virus, or temporarily disabling it while playing GTA.

Sorry when I said GTA won't start I meant as it won't actually load into the game (ie playing around) rather than it as an application won't boot (it does boot but gets stuck while initializing the game). Even so I have disabled my antivirus to see if it would help and it has not. This is a screenshot of what my screen looks like when it happens (Ive also included an image of my antivirus turned off):

Remove LSPDFR First Response.dll and .pdb, now load in.  Does it work?

Yeah it does load in, however its totally not playable. I've got a fairly highspec machine (recently upgraded to a Gtx 1080) and 16gb of ram and in normal gta gameplay (vanilla game) I expect to see gta using about 50% of my ram and 70% to 60% gpu usage at ultra/very highsetting at around 80-90fps , however upon launching with rph on just high settings I average about 20 to 15fps and during the loading screen I average 2fps and it only uses about 30% of my ram and 20% of my gpu making me wondering why its using so little capacity and the performance of the game is so crap (I checked and its not a cpu bottleneck either which I certainly wouldn't expect it to be so I have no idea why suddenly i'm getting all these issues).

It seems like there's more to your issues then we know, because when launching with Rage now, there are zero mods being loaded except Rage itself.  If the game is laggy with just Rage, then it certainly won't work with LSPDFR.  I'm not tech savvy in terms of specs or any of that, so I unfortunately can't get into those specifics.  What about if you launch GTA V via the GTA V.exe?  Do you still get said lag?

Ah ok. Ive just come across something interesting though, I have deleted ELS, PLD, opencamera (part of openIV) and EnhancedNativeTrainer  and I tried to relaunch it again and like that everything seems to be running fine, my fps' have gone back to normal if not higher vanilla. I'll  give reinstalling lspdfr a go and see if it works or not

No unfortunately this error remains even though I have made sure all the permissions of my folders and files have full control and are not read-only.

Never mind I've fixed it:

All I did after this was perform a fresh install of rage and lspdfr and forced DirectX 11 it seems to be working fine now finally with lspdfr running.

I was forced to do a rage update and now my game wont launch. Gave me a fatal error and said my game version isnt supported. HHHHEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!
