Stop Ped bug

Featured Replies

Greetings all

I'm sure this problem has arose before.  But I cannot find any resolutions.  The issue is with the standard ped stop, where you hold E or right dpad on the controller with the status bar on top.  You know...the "Police!  Stop whatever the hell yer doin!" (my fav) or "LSPD!  Don't make me shoot ya!"  and typically pulls the attention of peds in or out of vehicles within a 15 meter range or so to you until you dismiss them or arrest them.  The menu is Get ID, Issue Citation, and Issue Warning, or of course it enables you to arrest them by holding E or right dpad again.

Here's the problem.  That E hold button or Right Dpad hold button no longer works after a while.  So instead of seeing the status bar go up, and the officer staying "Don't make me shot ya!", he is now saying insults "You Idiot" or "YOU SCUMBAG", and now the peds are mad at me, start pulling out their guns and shooting away and off we go.  Most of the time they just want to fight me.  But nonetheless I certainly cannot put them into a submissive state to ID them, Arrest them, or "Catch & Release" them.  I know there are alternate arrest methods, such as the flashlight takedown, and the arrest manager Ctrl+H method, but honestly dumps away a lot of the realness and often blows up callouts.

The only fix I have for this (and I mean very very temporary fix) is reloading LSPDFR plugin.  Does anyone know of any plugins that can cause this?  This has been going on for a long time now, so I'm sure someone has found some type of solution to this?  Screen shots of my GTA & Plugins dir screens attached.

This is a bug with LSPDFR itself.  When it stops working, the only thing you can do is aim a weapon at them.  The flashlight also works, and that's what I do.  Kinda silly, but at least you're not always arresting someone at gun point.

Ah ok.  So the devs are aware of it, but still no fix after all this time.  Ok well I'll be waiting I guess.  I don't want to do any Monday morning quarterbacking so I'll just say they'll keep us to date on this?

The devs are actively working on a new version of LSPDFR, but as they do this in their spare time and are not paid, LSPDFR does get put on the back burner in favor of their real life commitments.

Great to hear even still.
