So I'm trying to download the bushmaster into my game I go into openIV navigate to mods update x64 dlcpcks patchday8ng dlc.rpf x64 modles wepoms.rpf. I created backups, I'm in edit mode but it wont let me drag and drop the bushmaster files into open IV?? Anyone know how to fix?

If it won't let you, then chances are you're not actually in edit mode. Did you click the "edit mode" button and confirm?

Yes I’ve just tried it still showing my mouse as a black circle with a line through it 🚫

no, it will not accept the file because its a  ytd file

OpenIV accepts .ytd files.  What you're seeing, the crossed out black circle, it only happens when you're not in editing mode.  The circle tells you that nothing is being added.  Please triple check you are actually in editing mode.

this showes me in edit mode and still the circle is showing up?

Patchday8 is not the correct patchday.  Use the very newest/latest, which is the highest number patchday.

Ok the reason I was using patchday8ng is because patchday3ng (The install instructions said to place there) wasn’t working, quick question whenever using any patchdayng should I use the latest one no matter what it is?

You're welcome.  In the past, patchday3 worked, which is why files say to use it.  However, it no longer works.  Only the latest does.

Um, I’ve gone into the latest patchday (patchday17ng) gone into the models file and there is no weapons.rpf where would I install the Bushmaster files now? 

All the weapons.rpf files stop at patchday8ng

You can use patchday 8 or 10.  I just checked and patchday10, at least for me, has a weapons.rpf.  If not, patchday 8 will work just fine.

 

To explain it a little, while patchday8 isn't the latest patchday, it's the last patchday with a weapons.rpf, meaning that all weapons put inside it will override the vanilla weapons.  It works the same for vehicles.  Patchday3 won't work because patchday17 overrides it. :)

right ok, so now I just drag and drop the files into patchday1?

ok this is getting annoying now... still not letting me drag and drop into openIV with patchday8 or 10???? I'm definitely in edit mode. I don't understand what wrong....?

I did a search and what I came up with is older, but it's the only thing I have at this point.  You're the first person I've encountered who is unable to drag and drop files.  If you have the time, download one of the most recently uploaded vehicles to this site and try installing. I just want to see if it's only those files of OpenIV entirely.

 

An alternative is going into edit mode, and copy the files you want to add.  Then right click-->paste in OpenIV.

ok so you just want me to install a random car and see if that works? I don’t mind, if it might help you figure it out. Thanks for all your help

Yes! I’ve finally done it all I did was copy and paste the files onto my desktop and drag and drop them from there. I don’t know why it wouldn’t let me drag and drop the the actual folder?

It might be your anti virus doing that, not sure.  I'm glad you got it. :)
